Khavardasht Agro-Industry Company
Khavardasht Agro-Industry Company was established as a privately-owned private joint stock in the Iranian year 1337 (March 1959-March1960) with the aim of supplying the country with edible oil.
The company, with 37 hectares of area (12 hectares of agricultural land and 25 hectares of administrative, production unites, and industrial land), is located in the city of Aliabad Katul, Golestan province, supplying its products with the brand names “Khavardasht” and “Jahan Banou” to the market.
The company has a roofed warehouse (with an area of about 1,500 square meters, for storing about 50,000 tons of seeds and flour), a dryer, mechanized oil storage silos (with a total area of 42,000 square meters and with 3,000 and 100,000 tons of capacity per day, respectively) as well as a cotton ginning unit, a lintering unit (with a production capacity of 20,000 tons per year), oil extraction units supplied with all kinds of oil seeds in two methods of “solvent extraction” and “cold press” (with an annual production capacity of 33,000 tons), and a unit for the production of all kinds of animal and poultry meal (with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons) as well as an oil extraction unit (with a production capacity of more than 500 tons per day), which makes the company unique among other oil extraction companies in the country.
All kinds of raw edible oils (such as soybean, canola, sunflower, safflower, and cottonseed), all kinds of animal meals (such as soybean meal, rapeseed meal, sunflower meal, safflower meal, and cotton meal), and all kinds of edible oils prepared using cold press method (such as sesame oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, and camelina oil) with the brand name “Jahan Banou”, high-quality cotton fibers, milled cotton, and types of lintering substances 1 and 2 (for use in military and chemical industries) are among the products of the company, which has been able to hold a 5 percent share of the country’s market share for each product.
Khavardasht Agro-Industry Company has so far managed to receive different international certificates, such as:
- ISO 22000:2022 Food Safety Management System,
- ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, and
- ISO 45001:2022 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
Inside the country, of course, in addition to obtaining the licenses for producing “edible oils prepared using cold press method by extracting rapeseed oil and sunflower edible oils”, “rice bran oil”, “frying oil”, and “mixed edible oil”, and a certificate for energy consumption optimization in the Iranian calendar years of 1397 (March – March ), 1399 (March – March ),1400 (March – March) from the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research, Jahan Banou has also managed to receive:
- A certificate of commitment to excellence, at the 3th award of the National Center for Organizational Excellence and Progress in the Iranian calendar year 139 (March 2018-March 2019)
- A 1-star certificate at the 4th award of the National Center for Organizational Excellence and Progress in the Iranian calendar year 1398 (March 2019-March 2020)
- A 2-star certificate at the 3rd award of the National Center for Organizational Excellence and Progress in the Iranian calendar year 1400 (March 2021-March 2022)
