Tabriz Wire & Cable Company (Simcat)
Tabriz Wire and Cable Company, abbreviated in Persian as SIMCAT, was established as a public joint stock company in the Iranian calendar year 1353 (March 1974-March 1975) with the aim of creating jobs.
The company’s production lines are located in the city of Tabriz in East Azarbaijan province (on a land measuring 52,000 square meters) and Qazvin in Qazvin province (on a land measuring 34,000 square meters). The company has an office, including the administrative building in Tehran as well.
Tabriz Wire and Cable Company (SIMCAT) is the sole manufacturer in the country’s wire and cable industry with the capability of producing all its required raw materials, which supplies its products to the market with the brand name “SIMCAT”.
With the annual production capacity of than 35,000 tons, benefiting from the world’s latest technology, SIMCAT manufactures types of wires, cable, copper and aluminum rod wire, as well as granule meeting accredited international standards and able to compete with similar foreign products.
The company’s factories in the city of Tabriz, East Azarbaijan province, consist of 4 plants; a wire and cable production plant, a PVC granule production plant, and a aluminum rod wire production plant as well as a copper rod wire, pipe, and belt production plant.
The company’s wire and cable production plant manufactures all types of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) wires and cables, all types of high voltage cables with copper and aluminum conductors and PVC and XLPE insulators, all types of 0.1/6Kv self-supporting cables, all types of aerial ACSR ACSR/AW AAC AAAC CU conductors, all types of granules used in insulation and coating of flexible, cold-resistant rods, internal coating or filler, and masterbatch in different colors, all types of aluminum rod wires in 9.5mm and 12mm diameters with various grades required by different electrical & steel industries, all types of copper rod wires in the thickness of 8 mm, 20mm, and 30mm as well as copper pipes and belts.
The company’s PVC granule production plant with an annual production capacity of 3,500 tons was established in the Iranian calendar year 1365 (March 1986-March 1987). It produces all types of granules used in insulation and coating of flexible, cold-resistant rods, internal coating or filler, and masterbatch in different colors. The production line of this unit includes turbomixers, storage tanks, PK devices, and cooling parts. The system is made by Werner & Pfleiderer V.P. of Germany. The production plant not only meets the needs of the wire and cable production plant of SIMCAT factory, but also meets the needs of some other industries and factories in the country.
The company’s aluminum rod wire production plant was established in the Iranian calendar year 1375 (March 1996-March 1997) with an annual production capacity of 12,000 tons. It produces all types of aluminum rod wires in 9.5 mm and 12 mm diameters with various grades required by different electrical industries, the steel industry, and so on. By launching and commissioning a new melting and holding furnace in the Iranian calendar year 1386 (March 2007-March 2008), the production capacity of the aluminum production plant of the company increased by 6,000 tons per year. With a new production capacity of about 18,000 tons per year, in addition to meeting the needs of the company, the needs of other industrial units as well as wire and cable manufacturing companies in the country, such as Mobarakeh Steel Complex and Khuzestan Steel Complex, were met.
The copper rod wire, pipe, and belt production plant is one of the other production units of the company, which was established in the Iranian calendar year 1379 (March 2000-March 2001) with an annual production capacity of 7,500 tons. The plant produces all types of copper rod wires in the thickness of 8mm, 20mm, and 30mm as well as copper pipes and belts. The machinery used in the plant have been supplied by Rautomead of England.
The company’s factories in the city of Qazvin, Qazvin province, consist of 2 plants; a wire and cable production unit (with an annual production capacity of 2,000 tons) and a granule production unit (with an annual production capacity of 700 tons). These factories produce all types of power cables with copper and aluminum conductors and XLPE and PVC insulation, all types of shielded and armored control cables, all types of 0.6-1kv self-supporting cables, all types of halogen-free cables, all types of CU, AAAC, AAC, ACSR/AW and ACSR aerial conductors, all types of 12-20kv coated aerial conductors, all types of PVC granules, all types of wires for the automotive industry, all types of coaxial wires, all types of tin-plated wires and cables, all types of telecommunication cables and jumper wires, all types of precision instrument cables, and all types of audio and visual cables.
SIMCAT has so far managed to receive numerous international certificates, including:
- ISO 9001:2015 quality management system,
- ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system,
- ISO 45001:2018 occupational health and safety management system,
- ISO 17025:201 testing and calibration laboratories system.
The company has so far succeeded in obtaining numerous national certificates and titles, including:
- The provincial exemplary exporter for four consecutive years, since the Iranian calendar year 1398 (March 2019-March 2020),
- The best provincial entrepreneur for four consecutive years, since the Iranian calendar year 1398 (March 2019-March 2020),
- A certificate of commitment to excellence, at the 3rd award of the National Center for Organizational Excellence and Progress in the Iranian calendar year 1397 (March 2018-March 2019)
- a 2-star certificate at the 4th award of the National Center for Organizational Excellence and Progress in the Iranian calendar year 1398 (March 2019-March 2020),
- a 3-star certificate at the 5th award of the National Center for Organizational Excellence and Progress in the Iranian calendar year 1400 (March 2021-March 2022),
- a 4-star certificate at the 6th award of the National Center for Organizational Excellence and Progress in the Iranian calendar year 1401 (March 2022-March 2023)
The company’s products, which are used in various industries such as mining, cement, steel and iron smelting, chemicals, oil, gas and petrochemical industries, marine industries, power plants, water, sewage, and water supply, defense industry, and food, agriculture, and all manufacturing factories have been so far exported to Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Burkina Faso in West Africa.
